Sigma Components announces the appointment of Richard Bower as CEO
Silverfleet Capital (“Silverfleet”) portfolio company Sigma Components (“Sigma”) has announced the appointment of Richard Bower as Group Chief Executive with effect from 1 July 2020, when he will also join the Board. Mark Johnson, who has successfully led Sigma since he founded it in 2004, will remain on the Board in a non-executive capacity as the Group’s Deputy Chairman.
Richard, who has a PHD in Engineering Materials, has extensive experience of the Industrial Manufacturing and Commercial Aerospace industries, with his past eleven years spent working primarily in PE backed aerospace businesses, most recently as CEO of AIM Altitude, a supplier of aircraft interiors. He has broad international experience as a result of working with the world’s leading airlines - prior roles in both Germany and Ukraine - and AIM being owned for the past four years by AVIC, a Chinese company.
Mark Rollins, Non-Executive Chairman of Sigma comments:
“We are delighted to welcome Richard to Sigma, and to have Mark continue to serve on the Board. Over recent years, Sigma has demonstrated its ability to grow both through acquisition and winning new business with industry leading customers. As commercial aerospace markets start to settle, we believe that Sigma, under Richard Bower’s leadership and backed by Silverfleet, will see such opportunities emerge once again.”
David MacKenzie, a Partner at Silverfleet comments:
“Richard brings with him a wealth of experience and we look forward to working with him to fulfil Sigma’s future growth plans and maximise the company’s global potential. We are thankful to Mark Johnson for leading Sigma to date and are looking forward to continuing to work with him in his new role as Deputy Chairman.”
