Silverfleet Capital announces partnership with Resurgo employability charity
Silverfleet are delighted to have chosen Resurgo, as our next ‘Charity of the Year’ partner for our London office. Through fundraising and volunteering, our London team will be supporting Resurgo’s fantastic work in helping to provide employment support for young people facing barriers to employment through the award-winning Spear Programme.
Resurgo’s flagship initiative, the Spear Programme, is a coaching programme that helps young people facing disadvantage into work or education. Resurgo equips them with confidence, motivation and the vital skills they need to succeed in long-term employment. The charity also runs Re-Work, supporting adults of all ages who’ve lost their job during the Covid-19 pandemic to re-enter the workplace.
Silverfleet’s partnership will support young people training on Resurgo’s Spear Programme. The Spear Programme is for 16-to-24-year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds not in education, employment or training (NEET) and helps them to kick start their career and find long-term employment. Advice and guidance is delivered through coaching and practical training - such as writing a good CV and mock interview practice – delivered over a year to help each candidate find a job and succeed in the world of work.
Harriet Mead, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Resurgo commented: “Resurgo is delighted to be partnering with Silverfleet Capital. As a result of the economic fallout of Covid-19, we have seen wide-ranging implications in all corners of our communities and subsequent increased demand for our services. With Silverfleet’s support, we will be able to support more young people to participate in the Spear Programme and ultimately help them to secure long-term employment.“
Gareth Whiley, Managing Partner at Silverfleet said: “We have been truly impressed by Resurgo’s ability to deliver meaningful results through its employment programme; 75% of its Spear Programme completers, for example, successfully secure work or get back into education, and are still there a year after completing the programme. We are delighted to provide additional external touchpoints for programme participants through volunteering and fundraising. Through delivery of its online Spear Programme, we look forward to seeing Resurgo go on to deliver great outcomes in the face of challenges that Covid-19 has presented.”
